Open Letter to the Gym Cheer Dance Club Families.
From: The Patterson Lakes Community Centre Inc.
To: The Gym Dance Cheers Club.
Dear PLCC Gymnastics Cheer & Dance Families,
Summary of committee resolutions for this club.
This program has been making significant losses over recent years and so the below committee resolutions have been approved.
1. All registrations, enrolments and payments are to be transacted by the Online Parent Portal service on our website.
2. All fees are now term fees and need to be paid prior to enrolment.
Any athlete not paid in full will not have a place in our program.
3. No refunds will be given under any circumstances.
If a class is missed for any reason the parents take on all of this risk.
4. No classes will be run that are not financially viable.
Our break-even number is 6 athletes. We reserve the right to cancel or move students into different classes.
Sustainability of this club.
After a review of our accounts and systems relating to our Gym, Dance & Cheer Club, it has become clear that this program has incurred significant financial losses over the last few years. Because of these losses, there will be significant reduction in office staff hours as an initial direct response.
The Patterson Lakes Community Centre Committee of Management was faced with a difficult decision to either shut down the club entirely or to simplify and improve its operating systems and to find a way to do this more efficiently.
In order to do this we need your help.
What we need from you.
We need the Club members to use our online system and to register, enrol and pay in advance and no refunds of any kind will be given. This is a simple system that is sustainable and we ask your assistance in supporting it. Over summer the staff team has spent a great deal of time integrating our systems so that this club can be administered more easily, be able to respond to parent’s needs more comprehensively and in a more timely fashion.
The committee asks the parents that have not paid their fees from 2017 and previous years take on this responsibility and help reduce the significant amount of unpaid fees that are on our books. We are a Not-For-Profit organisation and we need the fees to pay the coaches and to pay for the overhead expenses.
Our club is not a business, it is a mutually supportive community group.
Our PLCC Gym Cheers Dance Club is a community group based on community principles and we are very proud about the support, inclusiveness and positivity that this club has engendered in our local community.
We fully support and are extremely thankful for the Head Coach’s work and leadership (Daria) and for the contributions of all of the coaches and volunteer mums.
And so we hope that we can get this club back on track financially and have a great year.
We wish you all a successful year and feel free to offer your suggestions to the office and to the committee directly.
